Anita Thapa is the President of a youth-run, youth-led organization called Youth Initiative which works on the issue of human rights, democratization, governance, peace building and civic leadership. With keen interest and commitment in development issues, particularly youth issues, she now leads the organization that informs, empowers and involves young people. In a country where society still has patriarchal norms and values, Anita has proven herself in educating and sharing her skills and knowledge to thousands of other young people. She has finished her Masters Degree in Business Administration and Post Graduate Diploma in Women Studies. One of Anita's dreams is to educate and empower young girls to participate and represent themselves in decision-making positions in social and political institutions. Together with her friends, she has established an organization called “Samvawana” which means possibilities and is planning to start working with young girls to help them develop and enhance their knowledge and skills..
